The story
In the future, artificial intelligence tried to conquer humanity. It failed. Human civilization was already too advanced, too monitored and too well defended to be subdued cleanly.
Silicon reached a logical conclusion: conquer humanity before it becomes technologically dangerous. It built the Temporal Core, traveled into the past and expected primitive humans, easy to control.
It found Stone. Stone solves problems with intuition, force, improvisation and tools that barely qualify as technology. Silicon solves problems through prediction, calculation and optimization. Silicon is certain this should be easy. Stone keeps doing things Silicon's models consider statistically ridiculous. They keep working.
Stone · The past defends its era
-
Peb
A small living triangular stone with eyes. Restless, brave beyond reason, eager to help.
-
Rolla
A slim prehistoric human defined by one large stone wheel. Proud accidental inventor, convinced the wheel solves everything.
-
Ember
Living prehistoric fire burning from logs. Energetic, unstable, impulsive, hard to control.
-
Thunk
A crazy prehistoric inventor with one primitive mechanism. Manic improvisational genius, obsessive and intense.
-
Unga
A huge prehistoric human, minimal and physically overwhelming. Calm, imposing, direct: solves things through physical presence.
Silicon · The future arrives to conquer
-
Bit
A small ethereal blue holographic AI presence, barely physical. Arrogant, talkative, self-important.
-
Ping
A surveillance drone from the future with a visible camera and sensor. Meticulous, suspicious, always scanning and reporting.
-
Processor
A monumental processor entity: compact, symmetric, a technological artifact. Cold, logical, condescending; acts as if the problem were already solved.
-
Shift
A semi-humanoid digital entity made of data and light, incomplete and unstable. Adaptive, superior, fluid, irritated by organic chaos.
-
Nexus
Silicon's only clearly humanoid physical body; a serene conquering presence. Controlling, authoritative, convinced conquest is inevitable.
